When speaking to 24HRS Vancouver, Joss Whedon offered a few tidbits on what we can expect from The Avengers 2.  “The creation of the team is not the happy ending,” Whedon said of the first film. “It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I’m digging, just twist that knife. And that’s exciting for me.”

As we already know, he will be overseeing the other films in Marvel’s Phase 2 and we wondered just how much of an influence he would have on those projects.  “Very talented people are writing and directing these movies,”  he added. “and what I don’t want to be is the guy they dread, who’s going to come in and say, ‘Oh, well I have the power to change this.’ I’m not that.”

What ever his involvement on the films are, I’m sure they will turn out to be quality work from their respective directors.  The Avengers 2 opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
