Everyone wants in on the shared universe game.  Marvel is currently the reigning champs at the box office with their shared universe, making over 4 billion dollars over the 15 films they’ve released so far.  WB\DC is in their beginning phase which started off pretty rocky but may be able to pull something special off with the release of Wonder Woman next month, which has been getting rave reviews.  Also releasing next month is The Mummy starring Tom Cruise, which will be the first film in Universal’s Classic Monster shared universe, now officially known as Dark Universe.

Alongside the title reveal, we have a photo of the major players in the Dark Universe.  We learn from the photo that Javier Bardem has been cast as Frankenstein’s Monster, and Johnny Depp will play The Invisible Man.  Russell Crow’s Jekyll\Hyde will be the link that bind these films together with his organization Prodigium. Prodigium is tasked with finding monsters around the world.  Let’s see how The Mummy does and hope it doesn’t derail The Dark Universe before it can start.

The Mummy will open in theaters on June 9.
