Quicksilver will be played by Evan Peters who appeared in both seasons of American Horror Story. But what does that mean for the character in Avengers 2? Did Marvel know about his inclusion in X-Men before hand. They would have to, I think. Their company is still involved with the franchise, even if they aren’t footing the bills. If they didn’t, does this mean they might drop the character from Avengers 2 as to not confuse audiences? Or better yet (please make this true), does this mean that this could be a partnership with Fox and Disney/Marvel to include X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Or will we have to deal with two different Quicksilvers that share nothing in common but their speed?
Avengers and X-men have teamed up, and have fought each other a number of times in the comics, including in the more recent AvX (Avengers vs, X-Men) crossover event last year. The inclusion of Quicksilver in both films could be the seed planted that will lead to a potential conflict or team up of the two titanic teams. If this is case, as big as Avengers 2 and all the Phase 2 films will end up being, Phase 3 and a potential AvX film will be astronomical.
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on July 18, 2014, and The Avengers 2 hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
