Inhumans was once set to be the end of phase four of the MCU. But movement of the film went quiet, and rumors of its cancellation began to circulate. Well the rumors were true, but not entirely. The film as we thought it would be was cancelled, but the Inhumans were reborn in the form of an 8 episode TV show with at least the first 2 episodes shot entirely with the IMAX camera. The first 2 episode will be released in IMAX theaters for two weeks starting on Friday, September 1st. Along with this info, Marvel revealed the official logo along with a synopsis for the show. I get the feeling that although the TV and film department at Marvel have not played nice with each other, the hybrid release of the Inhumans will play an important part of the MCU going forward. I’ll even go as far as to say they will be a big part of the Avengers 4 (Secret Invasion?) if not the Infinity War.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
