The anime classic Ghost in the Shell is receiving the live action treatment which drops in theaters this spring.  Fans have been hotly anticipating the film to see if they manage to do the source material justice.  White Washing aside, they are many, including myself that are looking forward to this movie after seeing the first trailer. A second trailer dropped, and I think it’s even more impressive than the last. They don’t seem to be doing a straight adaptation, but rather taking elements from the Anime, and the series that followed. Undoubtedly they will also cull from the pages of the manga as well.  The action looks superb and the specials FX is on point.  I will be seeing this on opening day

Ghost in the Shell stars Scarlett Johansson as The Major and opens in theaters on March 31st.

Here’s a synopsis of the film:

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
