The good folks over at Latino Review claims that the villain who will face off against the Justice League in 2015 is none other than the New God himself, Darkseid.  The character was created by Jack Kirby in 1970.  He has long been a staple as one of DC’s formidable villains.

If this is true, it would make perfect sense in my opinion.  I figured earlier when rumblings of a Justice League movie began that Darkseid would be the perfect villain for Superman and friends to do battle with.  The only downside to this is that the uninitiated (heck, even some initiated) would say that the film will be a copy of The Avengers 2 coming out the same year.  You see, the villain for the next Avengers film is Thanos who bares a physical resemblance to Darkside.  Both are considered as top tier villains of their respective universes and their appearances are almost always in large scale events.

Thanos vs Darkseid

I think if DC plays up the serious tones established in The Dark Knight films and the upcoming Man of Steel for the Justice League film, they have a better chance of separating themselves from The Avengers 2.  What do you guys think of Darkseid as the villain?
