This is definitely the rumor of the week as HitFix reports that according to a source,  Joseph Gordon-Levitt “absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman.”  But is he playing the John Blake character we saw in The Dark Knight Rises?  For the sake of not confusing the audience I would say that might be their plan.

The site also reports that we might see Gordon-Levitt before Justice League’s 2015 release.  The source had this to say, “they [Warner Bros.] appear to be solidifying deals for Gordon-Levitt and, potentially, at least one other actor from the Nolan films to do… something.”

Could that something be an cameo in Man of Steel which Zack Snyder recently hinted would be setting up Superman’s appearance in the Justice League.  I find it kind of weird but understandable that they would introduce John Blake’s Batman in the Justicte League other than Bruce Wayne.  I can’t see Bruce Wayne gone for long though.  Maybe John Blake gets killed in the first or second act of  Justice league, forcing Wayne out of retirement for some good old fashioned vengeance.

Either way WB/DC seems to be fast tracking the League to compete with Marvel’s Avenger 2.  My suggestion is that DC should keep the serious tone that Batman has and Superman will establish, for the Justice League film.  Leave Marvel with the Lighthearted fun films.
