Last year, MiB3 was somewhat underwhelming at the domestic box office, grossing $179 million, but it was a massive overseas hit, earning a worldwide total of $589, enough for Sony Pictures to move forward with a sequel. Nothing is known yet about any potential plot details, but the script is being written by Oren Uziel, a man who is already busy working on re-writing the 21 Jump Street sequel, as well as Kevin Tancharoen’s upcoming Mortal Kombat film. Studios seem to love him, so the futures of all these franchises appear to be in good hands.
There’s no release date or casting deals, but we can expect to see news on both fronts in the coming months.
