X-Men: Days of Future Past, the seventh (I know, right?) entry in the series, just started shooting, and director Bryan Singer has begun tweeting pictures from the set. On the day before shooting began, he sent out a picture of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, and now we have one of the cute-as-a-button Shawn Ashmore, who really rocks the beard and the new “cheese on face” look. Presumably, those little triangles on his face means we’ll be seeing the character in his ice-form more often, which would be way awesome, especially if the beard also becomes ice. Ice beard.

We don’t get a great look at the new costumes, but I’m getting a “la resistance” vibe off of what little we do see of the bulky jackets, and I just can’t wait to get more! Days of Future Past combines the casts of the original trilogy and 2011’s First Class (plus Peter Dinklage!) via time travel, and Singer has already called it the biggest film he’s ever done, We’ll have to wait until July 2014 to get our hands on the film, but at least we’ll have The Wolverine (July 26th) to whet our appetites until then.
