The Dark Knight Rises will grace the covers of Entertainment Weekly’s annual Summer Movie Preview issue.  We get a closer look at the new Catwoman within the EW pages.  She’s featured with a gun which gives off the idea that she has no qualms about killing.

EW also spoke with Tom Hardy who plays Bane about the concerns that fans may have about his voice in the film. “The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice.” Says Hardy.  ” As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting… It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting.”  The actor revealed that Bane’s dialect was influenced by “a desire to honor the character’s brains and Caribbean heritage.”

Speaking on Catwoman, Nolan describes her as less “campy sexpot” and more along the lines of “a shifty cipher, calloused survivor, and world-class criminal.”

“She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness.” Says Nolan.

You can read more from the latest issue of EW now on sale.  The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th.
