Warner Brothers, with the help of Rocksteady Studios have made Batman into a viable video game franchise. When they launched Batman: Arkham Asylum, fans were surprised at how great the game was. We actually felt like we were playing as the awesome caped crusader, equipped with all his detective gadgets and killer martial arts that can take on multiple enemies at once. The follow up, Batman Arkham City took the franchise to greater heights as the game moved from the confines of the Asylum to the sprawling city of Gotham. Rocksteady bowed out of making the third entry in the franchise entitles Batman Arkham Origins which served as the prequel to the series. Development duties for the game fell to WB Montreal.
Many suspected the reason for Rocksteady’s absence was because they were busy developing another Arkham game for the next gen. Well it turns out our speculation was true, as Game Informer has revealed a new and final entry in the Arkham series, Batman Arkham Knight. The site also has two new images which features the incredibly looking new Batmobile which will be drivable for the first time in the history of the series. This could indicate just how big the city of game will be. Along with the images, is a brand new four minute trailer that is CG rendered but none the less awesome. I suspect we will be getting some actual gameplay footage at this year’s E3.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be released later this year on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
Here is the Official Synopsis for Batman: Arkham Knight:
