When you have a successful franchise, there is no doubt that you will milk it for all its worth.  It’s just good business.  So when Hideo Kojima says he is developing a new Metal Gear Solid, then surprise goes out the window.  Kojima Productions is hiring engineers to help develop next-gen game engine technology for use with the ‘FOX Engine’.  The engine will be used for the latest Metal Gear Solid targeted for high-end consoles and PC.

Kojima has stated that he wanted to collaborate more with western developers so he has open development to both Japan and the United States, which would be a first for the series.  The way things look, we wont be seeing a new Metal Gear until the PS4 and Xbox 720.  Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set to hit consoles sometime this year.

Here’s a glimpse at what the FOX Engine can do.
