Japan has always been a difficult market for Microsoft since they entered the console business.  They were non existent in japan for the fist X-Box and try as the may, they could not gain market share over Sony or Nintendo in the land of the rising sun with the X-Box 360.  So much so that some games that were released on both PS3 and X-Box 360, the X-Box version never made it to Japan.  One such game was Final Fantasy 13.  Now Konami has announced that the 360 version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is cancelled for Japan.

They released statement that assures that the western release of the game will not be affected.  It reads, “Metal Gear Rising Revengeance for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be released in the West as planned in February 2013.”  They have not given a definitive reason as to why the Japanese version was cancelled but one can easily guess the answer to that riddle.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on February 19 in America and February 21 in Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360.
