Since the announcement of the Playstation 4, there has been a frenzy of media attached to Sony’s new toy. But other than readers commenting on websites with their thoughts on the PS4, there was no way to tell if consumers will shell out major paper for the hardware until word from Gamestop. The retail chain has stated that demand has been strong, based on more than 600,000 of its PowerUp Rewards members signing up for the PS4 First to Know List.
“With only a glance at the PS4, gamers are excited and eager to know more,” GameStop president Tony Bartel said in a statement. “Within just a few weeks, more than 600,000 people have signed up, showing strong demand for this new console.”
For further proof that the PS4 will be a hot ticket item during the holidays is the PS4 YouTube Ad has over 26 million view in just about a month. I know that this may be my first hardware that I would actually pre-order. I think the only thing that can cool things down for Sony write now is the price is on the unattainable side, which I doubt will happen after the launch debacle of the PS3.
