If you were paying close attention, the news of a Destiny 2 coming would be no surprise.  After a Gamestop in Italy (I think) leaked promotional material for the game last week, Bungie officially unveiled the game today via the official Destiny Twitter page.  They released an image consisting of a large 2 on top of the Tower on earth, which looks to be on fire.  What does that mean for the upcoming sequel narrative wise?  Will the main social space that we Destiny fans have known and loved for 3 years be destroyed?  Where will Xur go now to sell his exotic wares?  I know.. I know.  There are two other social spaces, but come on! The Tower?

Speaking of Narratives, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg stated that Destiny 2 will deliver a “great cinematic story.” This is something year 1 of Destiny severely lacked.  It got much better with the year 2 major expansion, The Taken King, as well as year 3’s Rise of Iron.  I expect with the experience they’ve gotten over the past 3 years, the next installment should have a pretty engaging storyline that enriches the universe.  One which doesn’t involve us logging in to Bungie.net and reading Grimiore cards yo understand the lore.

Destiny 2 should be in stores sometime in September with a beta coming soon. Check out the pic below.
