deadly premonition

Deadly Premonition, the cult-classic survival horror game from developer Access Games, is coming, exclusively to PS3, on April 30th. The creepy game, inspired by late 90’s horror classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, as well as David Lynch’s seminal television series, Twin Peaks, was praised for its atmosphere, characters, and writing, but criticized for its shoddy gameplay, which was considered to be unacceptable by today’s standards.

This Director’s Cut, as it is known, promises to improve the graphics and update the control scheme, and new story content. Pre-ordering the game will allow players access to as-yet undetermined DLC, which will surely please fans of the original release.

Even if the game is not significantly improved, I will still pick this up eventually; a great story and likeable characters can help many gamers, myself included, to overlook, or at least not mind, underwhelming gameplay elements which would otherwise make the game completely unplayable.

Did I ever tell you about the time I played through the entirety of The Sopranos: Road to Respect? True story, I don’t want to talk about it.
